Plants

Camellias

Seedlings continue to put on size — leaves noticeably larger day over day. Additional seeds have germinated since the last check.

Snake Plant

The plant arrived without a functional root system. It has been trimmed down and staked to reduce the load on the developing roots — stability should support root establishment. Upper sections removed in the trim have been set aside as cuttings for a propagation attempt.

Magnolia

Blooms have weathered three freezes with no visible damage. Flower buds and open blooms remain intact.

Sedum

Moved outside into a large container. A small amount of compost was incorporated at planting for slow-release fertility.

Lilac

Leafing out. Buds breaking and foliage emerging.

Maple

Buds have opened and are drawing significant insect activity.

Bumblebees

Large bumblebees observed foraging in the garden. One individual found its way inside and was returned outdoors.

Boxleaf Azara

Left outside overnight in a container — the first time outside the greenhouse this season. No visible damage from cold or wind. New growth is heavy across the plant.
