Hoya pubicalyx 'Splash'
Hoya Pubicalyx 'Splash'
Apocynaceae
Slow-growing. Was severely rootbound and has been repotted as of March 2026. Growth paused while adjusting to new container.
Care
Grow in bright indirect light; tolerates medium indirect. Allow the medium to dry fully between waterings — hoyas are semi-succulent and prefer to be on the dry side. Use a chunky, well-draining mix (orchid bark, perlite, coco coir). Fertilize with a balanced liquid fertilizer during the growing season; supplement with a higher phosphorus/potassium ratio when flower buds form. Do not remove the flower peduncle (spur) after blooming — new umbels emerge from the same structure in subsequent seasons. Clusters of fragrant, waxy pink-red star-shaped flowers; fragrance is strongest at night.
