Hedera colchica
Persian Ivy
Araliaceae

Arrived with cold damage from shipping. All dead and injured growth was removed upon receipt. A cutting was taken immediately as a backup in case the main plant didn’t recover. After several weeks of dormancy, the main plant began putting out new leaves and pulled through successfully.
Care
Among the most cold-tolerant and large-leaved of the ivies, hardy to zone 5 with reliable performance in zone 6. Tolerates deep shade and a wide range of soil conditions; performs best in fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Prune in spring to control size and refresh growth. Self-clings to walls and structures via adhesive rootlets — remove from painted or delicate surfaces carefully, as rootlets leave marks. In zone 6, may experience some winter leaf damage but recovers reliably with new growth in spring.
